Shadows Movie News Round-Up
- Dark Shadows movie screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith appeared at the WonderCon event last week, where he gave an update on the new movie: "We had a great test screening last week. It was nerve-wracking, but it played really, really well," he reveals to Collider. "Johnny [Depp] had such a good time making the movie, and so did Tim [Burton]... you can tell it when you watch." He also confirms that the running time for Dark Shadows will be under two hours. To see the full interview, click here. "The tone is a tricky one," he tells horror website Fearnet. "It goes back and forth... really dark sweeping epic. There is a lot of darker stuff... that's more in keeping with the original series. - And finally, Dark Shadows will be hitting the newsstands next month, when it makes the covers of horror magazines Fangoria and Famous Monsters of Filmland. Fangoria will feature interviews with director Tim Burton, Helena Bonham (Dr. Julia Hoffman) and original series actress Marie Wallace (Eve). Famous Monsters has interviewed all four of the actors making cameos in the new film – Jonathan Frid (Barnabas Collins), David Selby (Quentin Collins), Lara Parker (Angelique) and Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans) – and rounds off its coverage with a Tim Burton chat.

How do you become lucky enough to see one of the test screenings? Can't wait to see this movie!
I can't keep buying magazines. I have three already.
I went to the theaters yesterday to see The Hunger Games. The Dark Shadows trailer showed, and I happened to be sitting next to two of the biggest critics in my family. I was waiting for a "What the hell" from one of them, but I was wrong, they loved it and so did the rest of the audience. They laughed and were disgusted by Angelique's tongue. After it was over, they both said they wanted to see it. I said were going to the midnight release even if it is on a school night.
The Hunger Games was, by the way, very impressive. I hope to see it again, but mostly so I can see the trailer again.
