MTV's Movie Blog has interviewed Tim Burton on his upcoming Alice in Wonderland film, where he touches on the upcoming Dark Shadows movie project, which he is attached to direct. "That’s something that [Johnny Depp and I] both love and are excited about. When I’m done with this [Alice in Wonderland] I’ll definitely focus on that."
Speaking about his plans for the film, Burton commented, “It’s... [a] challenge because it was such a weird soap opera. Part of the energy of it was the tone and weirdness of it. That’s our challenge, to try to capture that vibe." Shooting on Dark Shadows is currently slated to begin in 2010.

I'm "thrilled" that finally a new major movie will be done on the haunting Sci-fi chiller Classic DARK SHADOWS. The 1st two movies on DS were filmed in the '70's titled: "House of Dark Shadows" & "Night of Dark Shadows" and both of them are rare Classic's just like the DS TV Series are. Vintage Classic's. I look forward to Director/Producer Tim Burton & Actor Johnny Depp "unique & unuasual" haunting working-chemistry input in bringing the new DARK SHADOWS to the big movie screen in 2011. Just follow the root-Blueprints to the legendary DARK SHADOWS Cast/Crew and Writter's DAN CURTIS Creator/Writer & his DS Staff-Writters and the original Classic Cast whom brought life into those much "beloved" characters..'with their Burton/Depp own unique chilly "twist" & they have plenty of those as we clearly witness often through many treasure haunting movies of their's. Then his version on DARK SHADOWS will without a doubt be quite chill-bite tasty and ghostly frightening! I look forward to both Tim Burton's & Johnny Depp's next major movie-films: "Alice In Wonderland" in 2010 and "Dark Shadows" in 2011. Can't wait!!!
